about

The opening night of Oscar Wilde's Salomé at Dublin's Gate Theatre occurred on April 19th 1988. These messages were recorded on the telephone answering machine the morning after, with the voices of Olwen Fouéré (Salomé), Eoghan Nolan, Elena López and Steven Berkoff (director).
I composed and performed a 2 hour onstage piano score for this production.
The photograph is of Olwen Fouéré in the title role, in her lamentation at the end of the play - which moved me every time.
